My Story
My journey in Performing Arts began when I started putting on shows in my basement as a kid and charging my family to see them! Now, I have over 20 years of experience in Theatre, On-Camera, Voice Overs, Music, and as a Teaching Artist, Director, and Private Coach.
Originally from New York, I earned my BFA in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, studying both Acting and Directing at the Playwrights Horizons Theatre School. I now live and work in the Denver Metro area with my family of five.
In 2018 I developed a condition called Bell's Palsy. It is a neuorligical disorder which causes partial paralysis to the face. For me it happened RIGHT before I gave birth to my beautiful twins! It affected the left side of my face, and I have been in physical therapy treatments to repair the damage for several years. "Alison’s frustrated and sorrowful mother is created by Adrienne Asterita. Beautiful and talented in real life, Helen was a noted actress in local productions. It is easy to imagine how escaping into a role and away from her own dismal home life could have brought her relief. Adrienne illustrated the dichotomy of Helen’s life with grace and understanding."
-Becky Pineda, Front Row Center Denver
"As Bruce’s wife, Helen, Adrienne Asterita breaks our hearts with her singing of her loneliness and depression with "Days and Days".”
- David Marlowe, Marlowe's Musings
"As his wife, Helen, Asterita is appropriately melancholy and distracted by her husband’s sexual proclivity."
-Eric Fitzgerald, On Stage Colorado
